Revised Sept. 22, 2009
The Ball Joint Front End on the 68-79 Bus & Pickup is a very durable unit and offers a softer, more comfortable ride than the earlier models. However, many of our customers' vehicles are approaching the 200,000 (or more!) mile mark and that means the replacement of the ball joints on the torsion arms. For most, this is not an operation for the backyard or weekend mechanic. A heavy duty press and special tools are needed to correctly press out and install new ball joints. Because of this, Bus Boys offers Rebuilt Torsion Arms with New Ball Joints, making the customer's weekend repair a snap. All torsion arm cores are cleaned, the old ball joint pressed out and the new ball joint pressed in. The arms are then painted black and are lightly machined on the straight end to eliminate any burrs that would prevent the re-installation into the front beam tube. We offer these torsion arms in matching sets of 4 arms to do both sides. All of our torsion arm sets come with new ball joints to insure the highest quality of remanufacturing.
